President Boyd K. Packer

President Packer has been through so much in his life. He is such an amazing man and really loves his family. So many of the apostles seem to be artistic in some way and President Packer is no different. He loves to do wood carvings and he does an absolutely amazing job. The poem he shared at the most recent General Conference really touched my heart. It is called "Unfinished Composition." Follow this link to read the poem. He is a very bold man when it comes to his talks and I absolutely love that about him. I also loved that him and his wife prayed so diligently for their two sons and were able to keep them on this life longer. President Packer is such an example to me and I am so grateful to has his words to influence my life.

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

We always know that the leaders of the church were not always in that position, but we often forget that their lives were very rich before they were called to be an apostle. President Uchtdorf is an amazing man. He fought in multiple wars and held high honors. I knew he was from Germany but I did not realize that he and his family and to escape East Germany in order to protect themselves. He was only a young boy when this happened and it is an incredible story. While reading his talks, I was amazed at how well he is able to touch the hearts of those who read or listen to his talks. They are so reader friendly and his point is very clear. I absolutely loved reading his talks this week and getting to know him a lot better.

President Henry B. Eyring

As I learned about President Eyring, I felt like I got to know him a little bit better. Something I did not know about him is that he loves to water paint and many of his friends and family call him "Hal." When I read his talks I was really able to feel the Spirit and I learned a lot. Something that really stood out to me is the importance of keeping the Sabbath Day holy. President Eyring never did homework or other work on Sundays and I hope to be able to do the same thing.

President Thomas S. Monson

This week we have been learning about the prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I learned so much about him as I watched "On the Lord's Errand" and through reading his talks. I have never realized how many stories he tells in his talks. It is amazing the way his talks make so much sense to everyone who listens because there are so many stories. I also got to know his wife, Frances Monson a little bit better. She was an amazing woman who stood by his side in everything he did. From being a 22-year old bishop to the Prophet of the Church, she was at his side supporting him in everything he was asked to do. She will be greatly missed and I grieve for President Monson and pray for a comforting companion to be with him.

The Beginning

To start this experience I chose my first two topics that I will gather quotes on. The two topics that I have chosen that I will look into are eternal families and forgiveness. I am so excited to be able to work on this inspirational quote book and to read the words of the prophets.
